The app does not analyze or extract biometric data from these images.
6.1 Use of Face Data
The collected face data (images) is used to accurately compared pre- and post-surgery stages, as well as to provide your surgeon with the required photos needed to prepare, perform, and assess your surgery. The app ensures that your surgeon will get the images needed for a successful surgical procedure, and it will also help both you and your surgeon to track your progress accurately. Your surgeon may use this data for medical purposes and/or other uses related to your surgery.
6.2 Sharing of Face Data
Face data (images) will only be shared with your plastic surgeon upon your request. Images are securely encrypted, stored, and provided to your surgeon. Images are only temporarily stored on your device and they are removed once the images are sent to your surgeon. We securely store your encrypted images on our servers, and we do not share your data with any third parties.
6.3 Retention of Face Data
Face data (images) is retained for 10 years from the date of the last entry for adult patients, and for minor patients, 10 years after they reach the age of majority (18 years old), in compliance with Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). This retention period ensures accurate and comprehensive medical care and follow-up.
6.4 Purpose of Retention
The retention period is necessary to ensure accurate and comprehensive medical care and follow-up. This duration allows for consistent medical documentation and supports post-operative care, ensuring that your surgeon has access to necessary medical records for ongoing patient management.
6.5 User Rights and Data Deletion
Users have the right to request the deletion of their face data at any time. To request data deletion, users should first contact their surgeon. Our Services are not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. The Cosmetic Camera app is intended to be used by patients who are already under the care of a plastic surgeon. If a plastic surgeon recommends the app for use by a minor, it is under the assumption that appropriate consent for the medical procedure has already been obtained by the surgeon. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete such information.
